Under the visionary leadership of our Principal, Br. Jerome Manuel, St. Joseph’s College, Nainital, hosted its annual cultural fest, Literati 2024, on October 16, 2024. This inter-school event celebrated creativity and talent across various disciplines, including art, music, dance, and oratory. With enthusiastic participation from six esteemed schools, the event provided a vibrant platform for students to showcase their abilities and engage in friendly competition. The following schools participated in Literati 2024: St. Joseph’s College, Nainital (SJC) St. Mary’s Convent, Nainital (SMC) St. Xavier’s College, Nainital (SXC) Mohan Lal Sah Bal Vidya Mandir, Nainital (MLSBVM) Longview Public School, Nainital (LPS) Sanwal School, Nainital Literati 2024 featured 13 diverse events, each designed to highlight the wide array of talents among the students. These events included: Timeless Encounter – Play Stand-Up Comedy Ballroom’s Groove – Group Dance Hurdles – Sports Challenge Band Competition Banter Blitz – Mock Commentary Documentary Making Photography Rangoli Making – Aipan Face Painting Best Out of Waste Creative Writing Poster Making The students displayed exceptional creativity and skill in each event, and the atmosphere was filled with excitement, with cheers and applause resonating throughout the college grounds. The event was graced by the presence of Brigadier K.D. Malhotra as the Chief Guest, who delivered an inspiring speech. He emphasized the importance of cultural education in shaping well-rounded individuals and encouraged the participants to embrace creativity as a vital part of their holistic development. His words were both motivational and thought-provoking, adding a sense of gravitas to the occasion. The fest was meticulously organized under the leadership of Mrs. Zeba Raza, our school’s Headmistress, alongside Brother Lawrence, the School Secretary, and Mrs. Kavita Bisht, who worked tirelessly to ensure the success of the event. Their dedication to fostering a spirit of creativity and collaboration among students was evident in every detail of the fest. St. Joseph’s College was declared the Overall Winning School, while Mohan Lal Sah Bal Vidya Mandir was named the Overall Runner-Up School. Literati 2024 was a remarkable celebration of talent, creativity, and camaraderie among the participating schools. It not only provided students with an opportunity to showcase their skills but also fostered relationships and mutual respect among the institutions. The success of the event speaks volumes about the dedication of the organizers and the enthusiasm of the participants.
